At Fundación Banco Santander we are aware that, in order to contribute to contemporary art it is necessary to encourage its teaching and promote a pedagogical system where creativity and aesthetic experience gain strength. We work in a line of permanent collaboration with museums and prestigious cultural institutions that are committed to the construction of knowledge through participatory methods and support for the active individual. Some of these entities are: Museo Reina Sofía, MACBA or Centro de Arte La Panera.
We are patrons of the Educational Programme and the Centro de Altos Estudios of the Reina Sofía Museum, through which we aim to make art more accessible to all audiences, promote the understanding of contemporary art and stimulate sensitivity, creative imagination and the capacity for critical judgement.
We develop a wide variety of educational activities such as children's workshops for schools and families, guided tours, seminars, lectures, grants for research residencies at the museum, etc.
We are patrons of the Ongoing Teacher Training Programme of the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), through which we offer primary and secondary school teachers quarterly introductory courses on contemporary art, conferences and debates, ongoing advice, guided visits to temporary exhibitions organised by the museum and presentations of educational programmes.
