Cranford Collection. Out of the House is part of the series of exhibitions on contemporary art organised by Fundación Santander at the Art Gallery of Grupo Santander City. The Cranford Collection has been a living and breathing force on the London art scene for the last decade. Out of the House is the first exhibition of the collection outside the private sphere in which it is usually housed.
The exhibition, curated by Anne Pontégnie, focuses on British and German art from the mid-1980s to the present day. The British artists Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas, Rachel Whiteread or Rebecca Warren and the Germans Sigmar Polke, Franz West, Martin Kippenberger or Rosemarie Trockel are some of the artists confronted in a dynamic installation that seeks to highlight how these creators have revitalised and reinvented the traditional art mediums of painting and sculpture.
