Elena Fortún (Madrid, 1886-1952), known for her children's literary character Celia, and Matilde Ras (Tarragona, 1881-1969), considered the leading European expert of her time in graphology, whose literary side was unknown until now, are the two protagonists of this volume.
This is an anthology of journalistic, social and humanistic articles, short essays, diaries and correspondence by these writers who were committed to women's rights in early times and who were widely known during their time, only to be later forgotten, especially in the case of Matilde Ras. Both maintained a relationship of deep friendship and understanding, which is why we have chosen to publish them together.
Professor María Jesús Fraga is responsible for the selection of texts, and Nuria Capdevila-Argüelles, professor at the University of Exeter, is the author of the introduction.
