As a bilingual writer, Rafael Dieste (Rianxo, 1899-Santiago de Compostela, 1981) knew how to positively redirect many tensions between Galicia and Spain, between the popular and the cultured, between tradition and the avant-garde.

This volume gathers a good sample of Dieste's creative capacity: poetry, short stories, drama, journalism and philological or even mathematical essays, although he truly stood out in his short stories with Historias e invenciones de Félix Muriel, a masterful book that gave him a place in Spanish literature in his own right.

Darío Villanueva (Villalba, 1950), Professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the University of Santiago de Compostela, and former president of the RAE and the greatest expert on the work of the Galician author, was responsible for the selection and prologue of the texts included in this compilation.
