Music

Since 1991, we have participated in the musical and educational projects developed by Fundación Albéniz.  

We are patrons of the Piano Chair at the Reina Sofía School of Music, sponsors of the concerts for schoolchildren at the Madrid National Music Auditorium, of the Santander Music and Academy Meeting and of the Paloma O'Shea International Piano Competition in Santander and collaborate with Canal Escuela platform.

Since 2013 we have been a sponsor of the season of popular performances at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. These activities contribute to the international projection of young performers and facilitate access to opera for a large audience.

We collaborate with the Teatro Real by being one of the main sponsors of its opera and dance season, which every year includes world premieres, performances of great classics and educational programmes that bring the world of opera and dance closer to children.

We collaborate with the Santander International Festival (FIS) by sponsoring each year one of the concerts held at the Sala Argenta of the Festival Palace.

The FIS was inaugurated in 1952, thanks to the initiative of Ataulfo Argenta and José Manuel Riancho, the first director of the Santander festival. Since then, every summer it offers a wide range of cultural activities with concerts, recitals and dance and theatre performances.

For years we have supported the Escola Coral, an educational, artistic and social project of the Palau de la Música Catalana. This school provides musical training to the two hundred children and young people who make up its choirs: Cor Petits (6 and 7 years old), Cor Mitjans (8, 9 and 10 years old), Cor Infantil (from 11 to 15 years old), Cor de Noies and Cor Jove (from 16 to 24 years old). Once the junior stage is over, the members of the Escola Coral become part of the Orfeó Catalá choir.

We are one of the sponsors of the concert season of the Orfeón Donostiarra, a choral association made up of more than 170 voices and currently considered a reference in the international symphonic-choral scene.

In addition to concerts, the Orfeón participates in the Musical Youth Series and the Ibermusic Concert Series, as well as in the prestigious festivals of the Religious Week in Cuenca, the Donostia Musical Fortnight and the Pyrenees Folklore Festival.

We organise concerts for the Group's employees and their families in the El Solaruco auditorium in Grupo Santander City. These concerts are interpreted by prestigious orchestras, such as the Orchestra of the Reina Sofia School of Music, the Sony Chamber Orchestra or the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra.

In addition, we have featured guest conductors of the stature of Álvaro Guibert, Antoni Ros Marbá, Víctor Pablo Pérez or Maximiano Valdés.
