Escola Coral del Orfeó Català 

Fundación Banco Santander sponsors the Escola Coral, an artistic, social and educational project run by the Orfeó Català that provides musical training for children and young people from six to twenty-five years old.

An artistic team made up of conductors, pianists, music theory and singing teachers give classes on the principles of choral education.

The Escola comprises five choirs: Cor Petits, Cor Mitjans, Cor Infantil, Cor de Noies and Cor Jove. These young members eventually move on to sing with the Orfeó Català.

Every year the choirs participate in over sixty concerts, as well as interchanging with other choral groupings and performing with national and national and international orchestras. In 2021, and for the second year running, the programme was disrupted by the health situation, which made it necessary to cancel or postpone some scheduled performances. Even so, the Orfeó managed to hold twenty-five concerts in the course of the year, including the traditional San Esteban one: once again held before a live audience at the Palau de la Música Catalana.
