Santander International Festival

Fundación Banco Santander collaborates in the programming of this festival, one of the major cultural events every summer in Cantabria.

It sponsored the concert held on 28 August 2021 at Sala Argenta of the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria to close the 70^th edition of the festival. Improvements in the health situation at the time made it possible for international artists to return to the stage again.  

The pianist, Dejan Lazic and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, conducted by the maestro Ivan Fischer, performed a selection of the works of great 19^th and 20^th century composers. The programme comprised The ox on the roof, Op. 58 by Darius Milhaud; Gymnopédie No. 1 by Erik Satie, in a version arranged for orchestra by Debussy; the Dances of Galánta by Zoltán Kodály and the Concerto for piano and orchestra in G major by Maurice Ravel.
