Fundación Banco Santander publishes the second volume of the 'Historia Fundamental' Collection, which on this occasion deals with medical humanism in Spain and America.

Written by Gonzalo Gómez, the book illustrates a little explored part of our social and human history during the 16th century. The author introduces us to abundant unpublished documentation and introduces us to a golden generation of philosopher-doctors, a pioneering network of hospitals and universities in Spain and the viceroyalties or the support of the Crown for health care without distinction of race or color in the entire Spanish Empire.
